WHAT TO SEE IN PORTO
Take a wine tour where visitors can sample many aged varieties and learn more about the Douro region. These are guided tours into some of the most famous cellars in Porto, some of which are more than 260 years old, and the wine is simply outstanding with the perfect example being Ferreira, a hugely popular Port wine available all across the continent. Another highlight is the opportunity to visit the oldest running Port wine producer in Porto – Croft. For it is here you can sample as many as three exceptional wines before venturing down into the cellars to explore the origin or every glass. Indeed Croft offers a unique experience as they also organize blind tastings to enhance the senses and overall experience for each visitor.
And then there is also Graham’s Port Lodge who have made this region home for more than 300 years, and they never fail to delight visitors with their wine-making process within a 19th-century lodge. You can take a guided tour of the caves, visit the museum or keep things simple with a private tasting room but regardless, it is yet another example of the excellent wineries and cellars you will find on a trip to Porto.
